> FRAMED RULES, 2019

Framed Rules is an art installation in public space, placed on November 21, 2019 in the Museumpark in Rotterdam. In my research I discovered that placing an art object in public space legally is very difficult because of the policy and rules regarding art in public space. Placing a "work of art" in public space becomes easier when it is conceived for city marketing, which is an important factor for gentrification. I therefore wonder if there are still "legal" autonomous art in public space...
I copied a board design from the government and changed the context to inform the viewer about the rules that art in the public space must comply with. The art-work Framed Rules is a work of art that deals with art in public space to reflect on art in public space.
